The Electoral Commission (EC) remains dedicated to ensuring an error-free electoral process in order to maintain public trust and uphold democratic values.
In order to improve its operational efficiency, the EC has initiated a strategic recruitment drive, hiring more than 200 professionals with specialized knowledge in mathematics, statistics, and other quantitative areas. This action is intended to enhance the trustworthiness and dependability of the election outcomes.
During a media interview on Tuesday, November 5, Dr Eric Bossman Asare, the EC’s Deputy Chairperson, outlined the Commission’s readiness for the upcoming elections, underscoring the importance of transparency and accuracy.
Dr. Asare emphasized the commitment of the EC to avoiding any errors, big or small, that could influence public trust.
He emphasized that the newly hired specialists possess strong analytical skills that are crucial for precise data collation, vote tabulation, and statistical analysis, all of which are necessary for a reliable electoral process.
Over 280,000 individuals have already been recruited by the Commission to work on this election. We have enlisted individuals to assist with collation tasks.
These individuals have expertise in mathematics, actuarial science, and statistics and will provide support with quantitative methods. They will be helping the returning officers at the constituency level.
