Cholera outbreak in Kasoa results in 5 deaths and 30 hospitalizations

Five lives have been lost in a cholera outbreak in Kasoa, a town situated in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region. Additionally, 30 individuals have been hospitalized due to the outbreak.

 The victims were taken to Kasoa Polyclinic and the Mother and Child Hospital for admission.

 Municipal Chief Executive Anita Love Obo Amissah confirmed that three individuals died on Thursday night, with two more passing away on Friday afternoon.

 During an interview, the MCE disclosed that the number of confirmed cases rose from 20 to 30 by the afternoon, and emphasized the importance of Ghanaians being vigilant to prevent more cases.

 She praised the dedication of the healthcare workers at Kasoa Polyclinic and Kasoa Mother and Child Hospital for their unceasing commitment to preserving life.

 In addition, Madam Amissah highlighted that patients from the Gomoa East District, where hospital facilities are scarce, are being sent to Kasoa Polyclinic for medical care.

 The Municipal Environmental Officer, Godson Lodo, has advised the public to be cautious when buying food from unsanitary sources to avoid more cases.
