The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a warning to candidates vying for various positions in the upcoming constituency elections in New Juaben South, urging them to limit the financial incentives they intend to offer delegates for transportation.
The leadership, which has encouraged candidates to conduct a clean campaign, believes that refraining from monetizing the elections will enhance party unity and prevent potential discord following the elections.
In an interview following the conclusion of nominations and form submissions, Peter Kosoe, the national representative overseeing the 2026 elections for the New Juaben South Constituency, appealed to candidates to avoid financial inducements during the election process.
“We are encouraging the candidates to actively campaign without resorting to monetary incentives to persuade individuals to vote for them.
“We have also assured them of our commitment to fairness in this election, ensuring that any candidate who does not succeed will not harbor resentment, allowing the NPP to emerge victorious in the end. Additionally, we are requesting that the candidates minimize the financial contributions they plan to offer voters for transportation.”
