Jurors at the Accra High Court are contemplating submitting a petition to the Office of the Attorney General (AG) due to the government’s failure to disburse their allowances, a situation that has led to an ongoing strike lasting nearly a month.
The jurors, who have not received their allowances for the last eight months, report that they have yet to obtain any formal communication from the Judicial Service concerning the delay.
In an interview, the spokesperson for the group, Joshua Alorgbey, stated that they are still awaiting an official response but may be compelled to escalate the issue to the Attorney General.
“We have still not heard from the Judicial Service. We are still waiting to hear from them, so we advise ourselves. We intended to approach the Attorney General; he might be aware of the situation, but we wanted to visit his office and, if feasible, take it further.
