Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming 2024 presidential election, has reaffirmed his dedication to fostering unity within the party as a primary objective.
During a discussion at the NPP’s meeting on Wednesday, April 16, Opoku Prempeh highlighted the importance of internal solidarity to achieve success in the forthcoming elections.
“My foremost concern at this moment is to ensure a united party that can ultimately support a flagbearer,” he remarked, underscoring his commitment to establishing a robust and cohesive front within the party.
Dr. Prempeh also responded to speculation regarding his future political aspirations, particularly the possibility of a presidential run in 2028. He categorically rejected such claims, stating, “No, I am not running in 2028.”
His comments are interpreted as an attempt to eliminate distractions and reinforce his current role in bolstering the NPP’s campaign efforts for 2024.
