Ghana will host the 2025 ADEA Triennale on Education and Training from October 29 to 31 in Accra. This announcement was made by the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) in partnership with the Ministry of Education.
The event will focus on the theme, ‘Strengthening the resilience of Africa’s educational systems: Advancing towards ending learning poverty by 2035 with a well-educated and skilled workforce for the continent and beyond.’
It is anticipated that over 1,000 participants will attend, including education ministers, senior government officials, development partners, academics, educators, private sector leaders, and global education leaders. Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, expressed Ghana’s pride in hosting this significant forum on May 18.
Ghana is privileged to host ADEA’s Triennale in Accra. We align with ADEA’s and Africa’s commitment to eradicate learning poverty by 2035 and cultivate a skilled workforce for the continent’s future.
This event presents a significant opportunity for us to showcase Ghana’s educational reforms aimed at achieving sustainability, engage with our counterparts across the continent, and establish impactful partnerships to enhance education throughout Africa.
Furthermore, ADEA’s Executive Secretary, Albert Nsengiyumva, commended Ghana’s pioneering role in educational innovation.
He emphasized that in the face of unprecedented challenges such as learning poverty, evolving labor market demands, and diminishing educational funding, it is essential to bolster system resilience, enhance peer learning, and expedite the implementation of effective solutions.
Ghana’s dedication to educational innovation and its proven track record position it as an exemplary host for this significant gathering.
The 2025 Triennale will evaluate advancements made since the 2022 event in Mauritius, while also reflecting on recent continental achievements, such as the African Union’s designation of 2025–2034 as the Decade of Accelerated Education and the results from the 2024 Year of Education for Africa.
This three-day event will commence with meetings and exhibitions among partners, followed by discussions at the policy level and breakout sessions. On the final day, a communique summarizing key messages will be presented for approval, along with a possible tour of local educational institutions.
