Renowned marriage counselor and media figure, Charlotte Oduro, has expressed her discontent with social media users who derive satisfaction from disparaging others.
In an Instagram video shared on May 16, 2025, Oduro ironically commended these individuals, labeling their behavior as ‘diabolic’ and detrimental to society.
‘At times, I reflect on how some individuals celebrate malevolence,’ she expressed. ‘Congratulations, for you have triumphed by betraying another. You have succeeded by witnessing the anguish of others—particularly the innocent.
And you find joy in rallying support for such wickedness.’ She accused social media critics of intentionally attempting to tarnish reputations, demonstrating a lack of compassion, and taking pleasure in the distress of others.
Citing scripture, she referenced the biblical prophecy that foretold a time when good would be perceived as evil and evil as good, asserting that society is currently experiencing this phenomenon.
Using the crucifixion of Jesus Christ as a reference, Oduro urged those who have been unjustly targeted online to find solace in the knowledge that they are not alone.
‘They may appear to have the advantage today. The same fate befell Jesus. The very individuals he sacrificed himself for ultimately ridiculed him,’ she remarked. ‘He bore it silently and accepted his fate.
Take a lesson from Jesus. Regardless of what the world may say against you—simply ask God for mercy.’ Charlotte Oduro’s message acted as both a condemnation of online harassment and a source of encouragement for those suffering from character defamation.
