The Ghana Education Service (GES) has declared the allocation of funds to all Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs) nationwide for the payment of the 2026 WASSCE practical examinations.
In a statement released on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, Daniel Fenyi, the Head of Public Relations at GES, stated, “Funds have been allocated to all Senior High Schools (SHS) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS) throughout the country to cover the fees for the 2026 WASSCE practicals.”
The Service clarified that this funding is designed to fully support all practical examinations scheduled for the year, which includes the provision of necessary materials and other vital resources.
“This payment guarantees that all practical examinations planned for the 2026 WASSCE are comprehensively supported, including the supply of the necessary materials and other vital resources,” the statement highlighted.
According to GES, the release of these funds aims to ensure a seamless and well-organized examination process.
“With the release of the funds, GES aims to facilitate a smooth and well-coordinated examination process that allows students to concentrate on their academic pursuits, while alleviating any financial burden from parents and guardians,” it added.
GES also urged regional, district, and school authorities to ensure that the funds are utilized strictly for their designated purpose.
“Regional, district, and school authorities are, therefore, strongly encouraged to ensure the proper application of the funds for their intended purpose to ensure efficiency and accountability,” the statement stressed.
The Service also assured that it will closely oversee the utilization of the funds.
“Management will continue to monitor the utilization processes to ensure compliance and uphold high standards in the administration of the examination,” it stated.
