Sylvester Tetteh, the Deputy Minister for Information, and Member of Parliament for Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro, refuted allegations that he was responsible for tearing down a bungalow owned by the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC).
Tetteh has also mentioned intentions to look into how GBC lands in the Akwasa area were given to private individuals, following the recent demolition.
Tetteh denied allegations that he had destroyed a GBC structure, instead pointing to administrative failures within the broadcaster as the cause of the negative attention.
He clarified that there is an agreement between the GA South Municipal Assembly and GBC to use the disputed land for a public school. This agreement led to the demolition of the structure, a process he claims was carried out by the Assembly.
The MP continued to question the Director of Legal Affairs at GBC, demanding evidence that he had indeed demolished a different piece of land instead of the one designated for his development project.

My role as a sector deputy minister involves conducting investigations into the ownership of the GBC lands where we are currently standing, a move that has the approval of my boss. He needs to start preparing. If he is a legal director and had the audacity to report his sector deputy minister to the police, as well as post my picture on their social media account.

He stated that he wanted to address the falsehoods spread about him regarding the destruction of the bungalow. A bungalow, which he claimed to be GBC property. There is not a bungalow present at this location. There is an old, run-down building here with one man who has been living there.
For years, they have been collecting money from him. That place had never been occupied by any GBC staff for an extended period of time. The building is in disrepair and serves as a boy’s living quarters. Nobody employed by GBC had taken possession of the property, and when the estate manager arrived and selected the coordinates, the chosen coordinates encompassed the entire area.
If you are interested in developing the land but there is an old run-down building in the way, what steps would you take? Before starting construction, shouldn’t you make sure the site is clear? Here is the site plan that I will share with you. Kwame Waja sent this letter under the direction of the director general. What mistakes have I made? What mistakes have been made by the assembly? The municipal assembly has not done anything improper. This problem of an MP behaving without regard for the law. If I choose to disregard the law for the benefit of my community, I will persist in doing so.
