The National Identification Authority (NIA) has declared that the registration for the Ghana Card for children aged six to 14 years will begin at all district offices in the Volta and Oti regions starting Monday, July 6, 2026.
In a public announcement made on Sunday, July 5, the Authority indicated that this initiative follows the successful conclusion of the initial mass registration campaign for children within this age bracket.
The NIA stated that the registration process for children aged six to 14 has now been incorporated into its regular registration services at all district offices in the two regions, enabling eligible children to be registered continuously.
The Authority urged parents and guardians to visit any NIA district office in the Volta and Oti regions to register their eligible children for the national identity card.
To facilitate a seamless registration experience, parents and guardians are advised to accompany their children and provide all necessary supporting documents during the registration process.
The NIA emphasized that the registration exercise is entirely free of charge, encouraging the public not to pay any fees for this service.
Additionally, it appealed to parents and guardians whose eligible children have not yet been registered to take advantage of the ongoing registration service to secure Ghana Cards for them.
The public notice was signed by Williams Ampomah Emmanuel Darlas, the Head of the NIA’s Corporate Affairs Directorate.
