The Minister for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has announced an impressive response to the One Million Coders Programme, with a remarkable total of 91,847 applications received to date.
During the programme’s launch in Accra on Wednesday, April 16, George emphasized the strong interest among Ghanaians in this initiative, which is designed to provide young individuals with vital digital skills.
He remarked, “Mr. President, we initially intended to conduct a pilot with 260 students, but within just four hours of our announcement, we received over 4,000 applications. Consequently, we opted for a double track, accommodating 520 students.”
As of this morning, the application count has risen to 91,847, highlighting the forward-thinking nature of President Mahama’s strategy to enhance Ghana’s digital landscape.
