The Minority in Parliament has expressed concerns regarding the omission of the 24-hour economy policy from the Mahama administration’s budget for 2025.
The caucus pointed out that neither the President nor the Finance Minister mentioned this initiative in the State of the Nation Address or the government’s policy documentation.
During his concluding remarks in Parliament on Friday, March 28, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin raised questions about the viability of the 24-hour economy program.
“It is noteworthy that His Excellency assured us that his finance minister would present the much-anticipated 24-hour economy policy in the budget.
“Dr. Forson, in his statement, postponed this crucial policy, indicating that it would be addressed later. This suggests that for the 2025 fiscal year, the 24-hour policy is effectively sidelined.”
