The Office of the President has mandated the recall of all Diplomatic and Service Passports that were issued during the administration of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance the integrity of Ghana’s official travel documents and its diplomatic relations.
In a letter dated January 14, addressed to Callistus Mahama, the Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Secretary to the President underscored that this recall is in line with the government’s dedication to ensuring the appropriate use and management of official travel documents, adhering to both national and international standards.
The President has established a deadline of January 24 for all individuals holding these passports to return them to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Additionally, the Chief Director of the Ministry has been instructed to conduct a comprehensive review of all returned passports to verify their compliance with the current eligibility criteria for issuance.
Diplomatic and Service Passports play a crucial role in representing Ghana’s interests on the international stage.
