President John Mahama has mandated the dissolution of all boards associated with statutory corporations, commissions, and councils that were appointed by the previous Akufo-Addo administration.
This directive was communicated through a statement released by the Acting Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Abura Asebu Kwamankese.
The statement indicated that this action is in line with the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845), and is effective immediately.
This decision represents the latest step in a series of initiatives aimed at restructuring governmental institutions.
It is important to note that independent constitutional bodies are not subject to this directive.
The boards and commissions that are affected will be reconstituted in accordance with their respective enabling legislation in due course.
