Former Liverpool player Danny Murphy has recommended that the club consider pursuing Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus during the forthcoming summer transfer window.
Murphy’s recommendation follows Liverpool’s impressive 5-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur, a result that secured the 2024/25 Premier League title with four matches remaining.
In a conversation with the BBC, Murphy pointed out Kudus as a viable alternative for Darwin Núñez, Federico Chiesa, and Diogo Jota—three individuals anticipated to depart Anfield this summer.
‘Kudus is strong, talented, and capable of playing as a No.10 or on either flank. He possesses remarkable strength and speed,’ Murphy remarked.
Although he has had a relatively disappointing season in the Premier League, the 24-year-old midfielder from West Ham United continues to attract interest from elite European clubs as well as teams in the Saudi Pro League.
Kudus recently scored his first league goal of 2025 during West Ham’s 3-2 loss to Brighton. This season, he has recorded four goals and three assists in 31 appearances across all competitions for the Hammers.
