The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has dismissed rumors regarding a new cocoa producer price, describing these reports as inaccurate and misleading.
In a formal statement released on Thursday, the Board clarified that no price changes have been sanctioned, as the necessary administrative processes are still incomplete.
COCOBOD identified two significant deficiencies: the lack of a functioning Board of Directors to approve such decisions and the fact that the Producer Price Review Committee, responsible for evaluating and recommending price adjustments, has not yet been established.
The statement underscored that without these essential bodies in operation, any declaration of a new producer price is both impossible and unauthorized.
The Board called on the public and media to disregard unverified information and to await official announcements through appropriate channels.
