The Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, has presented the Expenditure in Advance of Appropriation for the period spanning January to March 2025 to Parliament.
This proposed mini-budget for 2025, totaling GH¢68.1 billion, aims to address critical government expenditures during the initial quarter of the year.
This allocation is designed to ensure the continuity of government operations until a comprehensive budget is introduced by the incoming administration, which will oversee the remainder of 2025.
Significant areas anticipated to receive funding from this allocation include the salaries of public sector employees, mandatory payments, essential infrastructure upkeep, and support for social intervention initiatives.
The mini-budget is a constitutional obligation during a transition year, aimed at averting fiscal instability.
After its submission, Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Asiamah Amoako directed the document to the Budget and Finance Committees for thorough examination. These committees are responsible for analyzing the figures and policies before reporting back to the House for discussion and approval.
