The Ghana Police Service, in partnership with the National Signals Bureau (NSB) and the Nigeria Police Force, has successfully rescued two female victims who were kidnapped and appeared in a widely circulated video.
The disturbing footage, which depicted the victims in a state of distress, ignited significant public outrage and concern.
In a coordinated operation, eight suspects have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping, with apprehensions occurring in both Ghana and Nigeria.
The suspects were found in various hideouts across the two nations, with law enforcement agencies collaborating effectively to locate and detain the offenders.
A statement from the Ghana Police Service confirmed the arrests and the successful rescue, noting that additional details regarding the operation will be disclosed as investigations progress.
‘The Ghana Police Service expresses its sincere appreciation to the National Signals Bureau and the Nigeria Police Force for their essential support and collaboration in both the rescue and arrest efforts,’ the statement indicated.

A 39-year-old woman from Asiakwa in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region was reportedly kidnapped by unidentified individuals.
The victim, Ama Serwaa Konadu, a well-known hairdresser and event decorator in the locality, was taken on Tuesday, April 22, while en route to her workplace.
The following day, her captors released several explicit videos of her via her phone to her family, depicting her being assaulted with a machete.
The kidnappers, who claimed to be holding her in Nigeria, demanded a ransom of GH₵500,000 for her release.
The family filed a formal complaint with the Ghana Police Service and other relevant security and intelligence agencies, providing them with all the videos to assist in their investigations.
