Parliament has sanctioned the initial group of ministerial nominees selected by President John Dramani Mahama after a comprehensive vetting and discussion process.
The nominees who received approval are:
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Minister for Finance
John Jinapor as Minister for Energy
Dr. Dominic Ayine as Attorney General and Minister for Justice
The Appointments Committee carried out the vetting on Monday, January 13, 2025, meticulously evaluating the nominees’ qualifications, experience, and vision for their designated positions.
Subsequent to the vetting, the committee submitted its report to the House for further debate.
The plenary sessions featured in-depth discussions regarding the nominees’ capabilities and their strategies for tackling national issues.
Following the debate, Members of Parliament cast their votes in favor of the nominees, allowing them to take on their ministerial responsibilities.
This development represents a significant initial step in President Mahama’s initiative to assemble a team that can effectively address the priorities of his administration.
