The Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has announced that the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) is currently seeking approval from the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, to allow Member of Parliament for Assin South, Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, to participate in investigations related to allegations of drug trafficking and money laundering.
The Minister noted that Rev. Ntim Fordjour has not yet replied to inquiries from security agencies regarding his assertions that two aircraft recently arrived in Ghana carrying illegal drugs and cash.
During an interview, Kwakye Ofosu underscored the necessity for transparency and proposed that the MP’s questioning should be made public.
“The NIB has formally requested the Speaker to permit the release of Ntim Fordjour. As far as I know, the Speaker has not yet responded to this request. Once the Speaker provides a response, he will be available for questioning.
“I have urged that the details of the interrogation be made public,” he remarked.
