The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has presented a range of digital learning initiatives to enhance access to quality education for students in underprivileged communities nationwide.
He made this statement while responding to inquiries on the floor of the House on Thursday, June 18.
The Minister indicated that the Ministry of Education, via the Centre for National Distance Learning and Open Schooling (CENDLOS), is broadening digital learning opportunities through the iBox platform, interactive educational technology tools, and offline learning solutions for schools lacking internet connectivity.
Iddrisu highlighted that the iBox system currently assists over 120,000 students across 240 Senior High Schools, while further initiatives are being implemented to enhance digital literacy, reinforce teaching and learning, and aid students in their preparation for national examinations.
He emphasized that these initiatives are part of the government’s dedication to closing the digital divide and ensuring that every learner, irrespective of their location, has access to quality educational resources and opportunities in the digital era.
