Former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo is presently receiving medical treatment at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra after suffering gunshot injuries in a reported shooting incident, as stated by her Special Assistant, Dr. Emmanuel Y. Boakye.
This situation arises following reports of a violent confrontation at the home of her younger brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo Akofena, during which approximately 45 bullets were reportedly fired at her vehicle. A video circulating online purportedly captures the moment she was transported to the hospital in an ambulance after the incident.
In an interview, Dr. Emmanuel Y. Boakye confirmed that the former MP has undergone two surgical procedures and may be transported abroad for additional specialized care.
“Adwoa has undergone two surgeries and is anticipated to be flown abroad for further treatment to avert additional damage to her face,” he remarked.
Medical sources reveal that she is currently under observation at the 37 Military Hospital, where she is being closely monitored by medical professionals following the surgeries.
The aide did not specify the exact location for potential overseas treatment but mentioned that arrangements are being made to ensure her complete recovery.
The incident has generated significant public concern, with many demanding clarity regarding the circumstances of the reported shooting. Authorities have yet to release a comprehensive official statement as investigations are expected to proceed.
Further updates are awaited as medical and security officials provide additional information regarding her condition and the incident.
