The Minority in Parliament has expressed significant concerns regarding the government’s inability to deliver clear and enduring solutions to the ongoing energy crisis.
Despite repeated assurances from the Energy Minister, the Minority indicated that numerous regions across the country continue to endure persistent power outages.
Deputy Minority Leader Patricia Appiagyei articulated the caucus’s frustration during a Leaders’ Media Briefing in Parliament, urging the government to present concrete and sustainable measures to tackle the issue.
“As we currently speak, dumsor has returned, impacting everyone. I visited my constituency in Kumasi, and the frequent interruptions in the power supply were alarming. Everyone is saying that Mahama left with darkness and has returned with darkness.
“This is our primary concern. We had the Energy Minister assuring us that he would resolve the issue in the shortest possible time. However, we are still facing it, and there is no clear solution to dumsor,” she stated.
