The Ghana Airports Company Limited has extended its congratulations to Africa World Airlines on the initiation of direct flights from Accra to Ouagadougou, set to begin on June 3, 2025, with a schedule of three flights per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
In a letter of congratulations, Mrs. Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, the Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company Limited, expressed that ‘as a stakeholder in the Aviation Industry, GACL shares in your success and wishes you the best on the new route.’
The establishment of this direct route marks a significant advancement in convenience and efficiency for both business and leisure travellers, providing passengers with enhanced options and seamless connectivity between Ghana and Ouagadougou.
Additionally, Uganda Airlines has secured all required permits and approvals to initiate operations from Accra, with details regarding the commencement date and flight schedules to be announced in due course.
Uganda Airlines will be the 25th international airline to operate at Kotoka International Airport.
These developments reflect a strong confidence in Ghana’s aviation sector and significantly bolster efforts to position Ghana as the Preferred Aviation Hub and Leader in Airport Business within West Africa.
