President John Dramani Mahama has issued a warning that individuals accountable for the failure of banks during the previous Akufo-Addo administration will face penalties, serving as a warning to others.
This investigation is part of the government’s larger initiative to promote transparency and rebuild public confidence in the nation’s financial system.
During a national address on Wednesday, May 7, commemorating his first 120 days in office, President Mahama emphasized his administration’s dedication to accountability and justice within the financial sector.
He revealed that the Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has initiated an official investigation into the downfall of local banks and financial institutions in Ghana.
‘The Minister of Finance, Dr. Ato Forson, has commenced an inquiry into the collapse of local banks and financial institutions. Let there be no misunderstanding; the truth will be revealed, wrongdoers will be held accountable, and valuable lessons will be learned,’ he asserted.
