The Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, has expressed his discontent with the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing the party of misleading the public and urging opposition supporters to maintain unity in preparation for the 2028 general elections.
During an event attended by party supporters in Sefwi-Wiawso in the Western North Region on Saturday, June 20, the Effutu MP seized the opportunity to motivate grassroots members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), advocating for solidarity, discipline, and a renewed dedication as the party gears up for upcoming political challenges.
Afenyo-Markin scrutinized the performance of the ruling NDC, contending that the party has not fulfilled the expectations and commitments made to Ghanaians during the 2024 election campaign.
“We must question whether the NDC is fulfilling its promises. The NDC is a total deception. They are deceitful individuals. They approach you with falsehoods, and once you grant them power, they accomplish nothing.
“However, they can only succeed if we are fragmented. Therefore, today, in Sefwi-Wiawso, I address the entire region on behalf of the flagbearer, on behalf of Parliament, and on behalf of all the party elders, urging you to come together.”
The Minority Leader also emphasized the importance of vigilance among supporters, encouraging them to critically evaluate the performance of the ruling government and to remain actively involved in political discourse within their communities.
