The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has characterized Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as a formidable and unequivocal candidate for the position of Ghana’s first female President.
His endorsement comes in the wake of recent comments made during the Vice President’s courtesy visit to the Ministry of Education, where he offered prayers for her well-being and expressed his aspiration that she may eventually ascend to the presidency.
While addressing the Ghana Teacher Prize event, which took place at the University of Health and Allied Sciences on Sunday, October 5, Iddrisu reaffirmed his faith in the Vice President’s leadership capabilities, asserting that she is exceptionally qualified to guide the nation.
“There were many among you who attempted to provide your own interpretation. Prof Jane, I am reminding them that my mother taught me that sometimes silence is golden because silence cannot be interpreted; however, in this instance, I sought an interpretation because a vice president undeniably suggests that she is capable of assuming the esteemed office of president, without question,” he remarked.
