President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed concerns about the completion of the Agenda 111 hospital projects, fearing that they may be jeopardized if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regains power. He pointed to the NDC’s previous criticisms of the initiative as evidence of their potential opposition to it.
He warned that important projects like Agenda 111, started by his administration, could be halted if Ghanaians elect former President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC in the next elections.
The president restated his dedication to seeing that several Agenda 111 projects are approved before his term is over.
President Akufo-Addo addressed professional organizations in the Ashanti Region on Sunday, November 24, advising voters to weigh the advancements achieved during his administration against the possible drawbacks of a new leader taking office.
Before I depart from my position on January 7, 2025, I will have finalized and launched a few of them. The Komfo Anokye Maternity and Children’s Hospital is currently 68 percent completed and will be ready for use once the Sewua Infectious Disease centre is handed over. Asante Akyim District Hospital has been completed, and Kumawu District Hospital has also been completed.
“With the way some people discuss these projects, the residents of Ashanti are carefully considering December 7th.” I am certain that certain individuals will be elected into office and halt many of these projects. Those who do not have Agenda 111 in their hearts will not complete the task. We have witnessed this before, so we must not repeat the same mistake again.
