A political organization known as Movement for Change is scheduled to reveal its official and new political party on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
The event will be held at the Coconut Grove Hotel in Accra and is anticipated to gather various political leaders from across the nation.
Discussing the vision of the new party, which has yet to be disclosed, a member of the Communications team for Movement for Change, Solomon Owusu, stated: “The New Party is a broad-based centrist national party that aims for a united Ghana with the intention of unleashing the potential of every Ghanaian for economic transformation.”
On all social media platforms of the Movement for Change, the organization is preparing for the official launch of the party, encouraging Ghanaians to look forward to a “New Party that prioritizes Ghana.”
The Movement for Change is headed by former Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen.
Alan Kyerematen established the Movement for Change after resigning from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in September 2023 to pursue an independent candidacy in the 2024 general election.
The Movement for Change, along with other political parties, participated in the 2024 general election, aiming to dismantle Ghana’s duopolistic political system, which has been primarily controlled by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The symbol of the Movement is the monarch butterfly, referred to as Afrafranto in Akan. It represents political change, hope, and transformation.
The motto: “Ghana Will Rise Again,” embodies hope for the future of the country.
The Movement’s primary agenda is propelled by its “Great Transformational Plan” (GTP), which seeks to redefine Ghana’s political and economic landscape.
