In March 2025, the year-on-year inflation rate decreased to 22.4%, down from 23.1% in February 2025, primarily due to a decline in both food and non-food inflation.
The inflation rate for food in March 2025 was 26.5%, a reduction from 28.1% in the previous month. Non-food inflation also experienced a slight decrease, falling from 18.8% in February to 18.7%.
The inflation rate for domestically produced goods fell to 24.0% from 25.1%, whereas the rate for imported goods saw a minor increase to 18.7% in March 2025, up from 18.5% in February 2025.
Within specific categories, Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages had an inflation rate of 26.5%, while Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas, and Other Fuels recorded a rate of 25.1%. Both sectors exhibited inflation rates exceeding the national average.
On a regional basis, the Upper West region reported the highest inflation rate at 36.2%, while the Volta region recorded the lowest at 18.9%.
