President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has fervently urged Ghanaians to reject the candidacy of John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
During the party’s concluding rally at the University of Ghana Sports Park on December 5, President Akufo-Addo expressed his apprehensions that Mahama would eliminate the Free Senior High School policy if he were to win the forthcoming 2024 general elections.
He called upon Ghanaians to protect the Free SHS initiative by voting against Mahama.
“We have a political leader John Dramani Mahama whose approach to policy involves reviewing and cancelling. Reviewing a policy does not constitute a policy, and cancelling a policy is not a policy either. A policy should be a constructive declaration of intended actions, rather than a focus on what will be cancelled or reviewed.
“The Free SHS initiative has remained steadfast from its inception to the present day. We must recognize that if we mistakenly grant him power, that policy will be revoked. Are we willing to witness the cancellation of the Free SHS policy in Ghana?”
