The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mubarak, has declared the extension of the curfew that has been imposed on Binduri Township and its neighboring communities in the Upper East Region.
The curfew is set to commence on Monday, September 8, 2025, and will be enforced every day from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. This decision is based on recommendations from the National Security Council and is supported by an Executive Instrument.
In a public statement, the Ministry called upon chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, and the youth to maintain composure and to adopt peaceful, non-violent methods in tackling issues within the area.
The statement further reminded residents that the prohibition on the possession of arms, ammunition, offensive weapons, and the operation of motorbikes continues to be in effect.
Moreover, the wearing of smocks has been banned in the township and its surrounding areas. The Ministry cautioned that any individual found violating these regulations will face arrest and prosecution.
