The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), in collaboration with partners from the Klottey Korley Assembly and the Osu Traditional Council, has inaugurated the initial phase of the Accra Leisure and Recreational Park, commonly referred to as Geese Park.
This park features modern amenities, including a snack shop, a restaurant, an event center, a children’s playground, a zoo, and a skating park.
Geese Park will be linked to the Asomdwoee Park in Osu and will serve as one of the key tourist attractions in the Osu area.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by notable figures from the tourism sector, including former Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, Seth Adjei Baah, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Akwasi Agyeman, Koku Anyidoho, along with board members and staff of the GTA.
In his speech, the former Tourism Minister characterized the park’s inauguration as a significant achievement for Ghana.
He emphasized that over the past eight years, the GTA has played a crucial role in promoting tourism in Ghana under the guidance of its Chief Executive Officer, Akwasi Agyeman.

Mr. Akwasi Agyeman further expressed that the GTA envisions tourism in Ghana as a means to showcase the nation’s rich culture and narrate its history.
He also mentioned that the GTA has partnered with the Ministry of Tourism and other organizations to execute redevelopment initiatives, including the Kwame Nkrumah Museum, The Nationalism Park, and Geese Park.
