Appointments scheduled after December 7 will undergo a review, according to Suhuyini

Tamale North Member of Parliament and member of the Transition Team subcommittee, Alhassan Suhuyini, has declared that all appointments made following the December 7 election will undergo scrutiny and may be annulled when the new government takes office on January 7.

Suhuyini urged the outgoing administration to refrain from making impulsive appointments and promotions during this transitional phase.

“I advise those who may benefit from these actions to be cautious, as the current leadership could jeopardize their legitimate claims for advancement. While you may have a valid case for promotion, allowing such actions to continue could complicate matters once the new administration is established.

“Any inappropriate promotions or appointments made during this transition period will be subject to review and likely reversal.”

His remarks come in the wake of the establishment of the transitional team, as stipulated by the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (ACT 845). The meeting, which took place on Wednesday, December 11, at the Jubilee House in Accra, marked the commencement of a structured and peaceful transfer of power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The National Transition Team, a constitutional entity tasked with overseeing the handover process, will be instrumental in facilitating a seamless transition of authority.

The 2024 Transition Team will collaborate closely with representatives from the outgoing government to ensure an orderly and efficient transfer of political power.
