A/R: 487 PONZI SCHEME MEMBERS IN KUMASI ARRESTED BY POLICE

The police has said a total 487 individuals linked to a Ponzi scheme in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region have been arrested, following an intelligence-led operation on September 2, 2024.

The suspects, who included 257 females and 230 males, were apprehended at their residence in Adwuman, near Kenyasi, a suburb of Kumasi.

According to a police statement posted on social media on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, early investigations revealed that the suspects recruited unwary victims from all around the country with promises of rich returns on investment.

During the raid, authorities confiscated registration documents and other materials with the QNET brand. Twelve of the arrested men were identified as scheme executives.

They are Gyereh Evelyn, Francis Kpesah, Samuel Musah, Simon Yakubu, Thomas Kotual, Kwasi Nyabi, Benjamin Nsigma, Elijah Musah, Moses Katu, John Balabon Tagnakibi, James Nogma, and Fidelis Bang-ib. These individuals are currently in police custody, assisting with further investigations.

The police have asked the public to be vigilant about such schemes and to report any suspicious activity to law authorities.
