The decision was made in response to a petition from Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, who indicated his caucus’ disagreement with the Speaker’s decision to adjourn the session indefinitely on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.
The emergency sitting’s agenda includes discussions on the financing agreement between the Government of Ghana and the International Development Association, requests for tax exemptions for beneficiaries of the One District, One Factory Programme, issues concerning the Ghana Financial Stability Fund, and the consideration of several bills.
Meanwhile, the Speaker has chosen the dome at the International Conference Centre as the location for Parliament.
