The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) is urging government to take immediate steps to dualize the major road network across the country to reduce the constant head on collisions.
The union said the call comes at the time fatalities associated with road accidents have reduced on the Accra-Nsawam portion of the Kumasi-Accra Road following the dualization of that stretch.
GPRTU who expressed worries over the numerous accidents being recorded on the major roads due to their poor state blames the situation on the failure of the past governments to dualize them.
According to GPRTU, the accidents occurring on daily basis will be reduced when the roads across the country are in good shapes.
The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) and National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) in a sensitization exercise with drivers today said there is an urgent need to dualize most of the major roads to save lives.
