Award-winning radio and television personality Patrick Osei Agyemang aka Countryman Songo has called on President Nana Akufo-Addo to investigate the Ghana Football Association [GFA] and the Ministry of Sports, led by Mustapha Ussif .
His appeal comes after the Black Stars were knocked out of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Ghana, before the final Group H match against Uruguay, needed a draw to secure a place in the next round of the tournament.

However, the Black Stars lost 0-2 to the South American giants, with Andre Ayew missing a crucial penalty.
Speaking on Asempa FM during the Ultimate Sports Show, the popular sports broadcaster called on President Akufo-Addo to investigate the cause of the disappointment in the Gulf nation.

According to him, the sports minister [Mustapha Ussif] should be fired for not doing the right thing before the World Cup.

“First of all, President Akufo-Addo needs to investigate the Ghana Football Association [GFA] headed by Kurt Okraku and Mustapha Ussif, the Minister of Sports,” he said.
“Friendlies take place before the World Cup and there is no accountability. The EOCO and the Auditor General must investigate them. We were told that fans would not be taken to Qatar, but over 3,000 fans flew to Qatar and they had to explain themselves. “The Sports Secretary is in the Black Stars business because there is money and he is the biggest problem and he needs to be fired by Akufo-Addo because he has no legacy.
“He led the team to AFCON 2021 and he failed. He led the team to Qatar and he failed.
“Kurt Okraku has appointed a part-time coach and now look where we are today. We’ve been knocked out of the tournament and that’s a shame,” he added. Ghana left the tournament with three points and finished bottom of the table.

At the same time, the Minister of Sports confirmed in a statement on Sunday that the performance of the Black Stars will be reviewed.
