The office of the Gborbu Wulomo-Shitse, the Spiritual Overlord of the GaDangme people, has called upon the family head of the late Ghanaian highlife icon Daddy Lumba in response to reports regarding his purported burial.
In a correspondence dated March 10, 2026, the office instructed Victor Kofi Owusu, also recognized as Abusua Panyin Tupac and the family head of the deceased musician, to present himself before Nuumo Borketey Laweh Tsuru, the Gborbu Wulomo, at the Nungua Palace on Thursday, March 13, at 11:30 a.m.
This summons is a result of reports and public apprehensions concerning the alleged burial of the late Daddy Lumba, whose real name was Charles Kojo Fosu, at his private residence located in East Legon, Accra.
The letter indicated that this matter has raised considerable concern among certain segments of the GaDangme community and has thus been escalated to the Spiritual Overlord for clarification and traditional assessment.
“As the Family Head (Abusua Panyin) of the late Charles Kojo Fosu, your attendance is necessary to provide the required explanation and engage on this issue in line with customary practices, as well as to help address the concerns that have been raised,” the letter articulated.
Additionally, the office instructed Mr. Owusu to meet with Nuumo Borketey Laweh Tsuru at the Nungua Palace to provide clarification and collaborate with traditional authorities in resolving this issue.
The statement underscored that the purpose of the summons is to uphold respect for tradition, preserve community harmony, and facilitate a peaceful resolution to the concerns regarding the reported burial.
The office urged the family head to regard the summons with urgency and to fully cooperate with the traditional leadership.
