President John Dramani Mahama has asserted that his administration has established a sustainable groundwork for Ghana’s long-term development following a year filled with challenging yet essential decisions and reforms.
During a non-denominational Thanksgiving Service held at the forecourt of Jubilee House on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, the President contemplated his inaugural year in office, characterizing the time as one defined by difficult choices aimed at stabilizing the nation.
“As we reflect on the previous years, we do so with honesty. We have made tough decisions and implemented challenging reforms. We have built foundations that may not be immediately apparent, but are essential for the enduring progress of our nation,” President Mahama stated.
He emphasized that the government’s primary focus over the past year has been on restoring economic stability and rebuilding trust both domestically and internationally.
“We have prioritized economic stabilization, institutional reforms, social protection, and the restoration of confidence, both within our nation and in the global community,” he further remarked.
President Mahama expressed that the thanksgiving service offered a moment to consider the advancements achieved thus far and to convey appreciation for the resilience of Ghanaians as the country continues its path toward sustained growth and development.
