Queen Titiaka Meets President Mahama, Rallies Support for Climate Action
The reigning Queen of Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2024, Nihad Titiaka Oases Ibrahim, took a significant step in her advocacy journey on Wednesday, September 17, when she paid a heartfelt courtesy call on former President John Dramani Mahama at the Jubilee House.
Describing the moment as “truly unforgettable,” Queen Titiaka expressed deep gratitude to the former President for the encouragement and support he offered her during the GMB competition. According to her, that backing was instrumental in helping her bring the coveted crown to the Savannah Region for the very first time in the show’s history.
“This wasn’t just a personal win—it was a proud moment for my region. I will always be grateful,” she said with emotion.
During the meeting, Queen Titiaka officially introduced her flagship project, titled “Empowering Communities for Climate Action”, the main focus of her reign as GMB Queen. The initiative aims to drive real change in local communities through:
-
Climate education
-
Tree planting
-
Clean cooking solutions
-
Recycling and waste management
-
And the construction of a 3-unit classroom block in the Savannah Region
She appealed for the President’s support, emphasizing that tackling climate change is a shared responsibility that requires bold leadership, collaboration across sectors, and the active involvement of young people.
“Your Excellency’s leadership continues to inspire me. It’s a reminder that meaningful change happens when vision meets action. I want to use my platform not just to raise awareness, but to take real steps toward a greener, more resilient Ghana,” she told President Mahama.
A former SRC Women’s Commissioner at UPSA, Queen Titiaka has grown from a beauty pageant contestant into a rising voice for sustainability, youth empowerment, and community-led development. Her meeting with the former President marks a major milestone in her mission to use the GMB platform for lasting impact.
She left the Jubilee House with renewed determination, describing the encounter as a “lifetime opportunity” that strengthened her resolve to keep working toward a better future.
A Symbol of Hope and Change
Queen Titiaka’s advocacy goes far beyond the glitz and glamour of the pageant stage. She has become a powerful symbol of what young people—especially women—can achieve when given a platform and a purpose.
Her project is already gaining attention from stakeholders and community leaders, and serves as a reminder that climate action doesn’t just start at international conferences—it begins in our communities, with leaders like her stepping up
