President John Dramani Mahama has reappointed Dr. George Smith-Graham as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC).
This appointment signifies his return to a position he previously occupied from 2009 to 2017, during which he was instrumental in the implementation of the Single Spine Salary Structure, a fundamental aspect of the FWSC Act, 2007 (Act 737).
His reappointment follows the leadership of Mr. Benjamin Arthur, a distinguished professional in labour relations who has led the FWSC since January 2022 until this week.
Dr. Smith-Graham’s return is timely as the government prepares to transition the FWSC into an Independent Emoluments Commission.
With over thirty years of experience in compensation management, public service reforms, and strategic leadership, Dr. Smith-Graham is exceptionally qualified to guide the forthcoming reforms.
