The Auditor-General has initiated a thorough nationwide payroll audit encompassing all entities within the Controller and Accountant-General’s payroll system, including subvented organizations.
This audit will scrutinize the payroll records of Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), and subvented bodies for the timeframe from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2024. Additionally, a complete headcount of all government employees receiving salaries will be carried out.
In a statement released by the Office of the Auditor-General, all relevant institutions have been requested to provide auditors with full and unrestricted access to all pertinent records.
“The Office of the Auditor-General urges all institutions to ensure that auditors have unimpeded access to financial records, returns, and other documentation, including both computerized and electronic files, to facilitate a smooth and timely completion of the audit,” the statement indicated.
