Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Vice President and the 2024 candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has recognized the failures of the NPP administration, extending an apology to the citizens of Ghana while seeking to regain their trust in light of the forthcoming general elections.
During a discussion in London, Dr. Bawumia acknowledged that while the NPP has achieved considerable progress in governance, it has also committed significant errors. In a sincere and introspective manner, he stated: ‘The NPP has accomplished a great deal, but we have not been flawless.
We have made several mistakes, and I wish to express my apologies, both personally and on behalf of the party and the government, for our shortcomings.’
He reassured Ghanaians that the party has reflected on its missteps and is dedicated to improving if granted another chance.
‘I am confident that, with God’s grace, if we are afforded another opportunity, we will rectify many of our past mistakes, as we have learned valuable lessons from our experiences,’ he remarked.
Dr. Bawumia’s comments come in the wake of the NPP’s disappointing results in the 2024 elections.
