The Save Ghana Movement has raised serious concerns about the method of appointing Ministers and District Chief Executives (DCEs) in Ghana.
Save Ghana movement is advocating for a more transparent and accountable process wherein District Chief Executives (DCEs) and Ministers are required to present their mission and vision for developing their respective constituencies. Similar to the presidential election process, they should then be subject to a vote or election based on their proposed plans and capabilities.
The current approach to appointing Ministers and DCEs is cited as a significant impediment to the country’s progress, contributing to its developmental stagnation. Without reforming this appointment process, there is a risk of continuing to select individuals who are unqualified for the roles, lacking the necessary qualifications or dedication to drive the nation’s advancement.
It is crucial that Ghanaians collectively reassess how leaders are appointed to ensure that only the most qualified and committed individuals are entrusted with steering the country’s development forward.
