The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, has revealed that the small-scale gold exports conducted by the Board in partnership with the Bank of Ghana from January to August 2025 totaled 66.7 tonnes.
During his address at the inaugural Mining and Minerals Convention in Accra on Tuesday, September 9, he highlighted that these exports are valued at approximately $6.3 billion.
“From January through the end of August 2025, the small-scale gold exports executed by or via the GoldBod, in close collaboration with the BoG, have reached a remarkable 66.7 tonnes, with an export value nearing $6.3 billion.”
“This indicates that the quantity and worth of small-scale gold exports from January to August 2025 have surpassed the total small-scale export figures for the entire year of 2024. Specifically, from January to December 2024, the total was 63 tonnes, valued at around $4.6 billion.”
