The N.O.D Foundation, the maiden pioneers of the Ghana Chieftancy Excellence Awards on this day hereby write to the General public our stands of the recent issues that has ensued between the two strings of authority in Ghana, from the supplication of the Chief from the volta region and the response from our president.
Words they say are very powerful than two edge sword and this becomes a reality the more when interpreters have their own diabolical objectives. We hereby write to make it clear to the public to factors in the duo pointers for our call for peace and togetherness in governance. To begin with, we want to emphatically state that:
1.Nobody should project any tribal bigotry out of this incident because the nightmare of the Hutus and the Tutsis of Rwanda are still hunting survival of such mass killings, with reference to records, The Rwandan genocide occurred between 7 April and 15 July 1994 during the Rwandan Civil War. During this period of around 100 days, members of the Tutsi minority ethnic group, as well as some moderate Hutu and Twa, were slaughtered by armed militias. The most widely accepted scholarly estimates are around 500,000 to 800,000 Tutsi deaths. Estimates for the total death toll (including Hutu and Twa victims) are as high as 1,100,000. Do we as a nation wish to witness such barbaric act? If not, then we pray thee all manner of persons that are in diverse way speaking to propagate same or similar message should desist from such statements.
2. We want to bring to bare how we are interdependent as a nation, in the light that all political parties or Government leaders that seek for power do visit our chief who are the custodians of our lands. The Chiefs on the other hand may have some developmental project to be executed which largely depends on the government of the day, on this analogy we humbly plea that we should remember that the country Ghana is the only peaceful place we have and we do not wish for any soul to perish as a result of this matter if not properly handled at the earliest stage.
3. We want to solemnly plea with all opinions leaders, that let us not perish the nation Ghana due to our varied opinions and the unsavoury partizan comments following the aftermath of the issue, but rather assess it with the lens of unity towards the development we all yearn to see. Together we can build mother Ghana.
Long live our nation Ghana, long live N.O.D Foundation.
