The Office of the Special Prosecutor has officially declared former Finance Minister Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta wanted and is calling on the public to provide any information regarding his whereabouts.
This announcement comes after the OSP declared Ofori-Atta wanted and a fugitive at a press conference in Accra last week.
According to the notice posted on the OSP’s social media page, Ofori-Atta, born on November 7, 1958, is a 66-year-old male with black eyes, black hair, and brown skin. He is believed to be possibly located in the United States of America (USA) or the United Kingdom (UK).
The Special Prosecutor’s Office has outlined several charges against Ofori-Atta, including his involvement in the Strategic Mobilization-GRA Contract, the termination of the ECG-BXC contract, payments related to the National Cathedral, the procurement of ambulances, and the utilization of the Tax Refund Account.
In light of these allegations, the public is urged to contact the Office of the Special Prosecutor by calling or sending a WhatsApp message to 0554494499 or 0554484488 if they have any information that could assist in locating Ofori-Atta.
Meanwhile, the office issued a legal disclaimer emphasizing that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, reinforcing the legal principle of the presumption of innocence.
