Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has provided assurances to Ghanaian football enthusiasts regarding enhanced travel arrangements in anticipation of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, following the qualification of the Black Stars.
Ghana secured its spot in the global tournament with a narrow 1–0 win against Comoros on Sunday, October 12, in Accra — a result that signifies the nation’s fifth appearance in the World Cup since its inaugural participation in 2006.
In a post shared on X on Monday, October 13, Mr. Ablakwa extended his congratulations to the team and revealed intentions to utilize Ghana’s robust diplomatic ties with the host countries — the United States, Canada, and Mexico — to obtain favorable visa quotas for supporters.
“Congratulations to the Black Stars on Ghana’s emphatic 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification. Ghanaians can be fully assured that the Foreign Ministry under my leadership shall leverage our improved cordial diplomatic relations with the United States, Canada, and Mexico to guarantee appreciable visa quotas for our globally acclaimed football fans. GHANA, here we come!” he stated.
The Black Stars’ triumph has reignited national pride as the team gears up to represent Ghana on football’s grandest stage once more.
