During Tuesday’s parliamentary session, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) commended Alban Bagbin, the Speaker of Parliament, for his strong leadership.
The party praised the Speaker for his effective management of the day’s proceedings, commending him as a role model for parliamentary leadership. Leading the praise was the General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey.
The NDC issued a statement on October 22, commending Bagbin for his maturity and balanced approach during the session. They believe his actions demonstrate a commitment to protecting the interests of both the legislative body and the nation.
The party praised Bagbin for enhancing the credibility of Parliament and expressed hope that he will maintain its independence in the future.
We commend him for his dedication to serving Parliament and the people of Ghana, as well as for his leadership in upholding the integrity of Parliament.

The announcement of the indefinite adjournment of parliamentary proceedings was made by Alban Bagbin on Tuesday.
During a day marked by heated disputes between Members of Parliament (MPs) from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the question of which caucus holds the Majority, the decision was made to remove one of the factions from the Chamber.
During the adjournment announcement, Speaker Bagbin briefly mentioned that he had received communication from the Supreme Court instructing him to halt his earlier ruling declaring four parliamentary seats vacant.
However, he chose not to provide any further information about the communication, leaving MPs and observers puzzled about the potential ramifications of the Court’s directive. The Speaker addressed the House on Tuesday, stating that while they had enough members present to conduct business, there were not enough present to vote on decisions.
